Where are Amie products made?
Amie products are manufactured in the UK.
Are your products cruelty-free?
Yes, all Amie Skincare Ltd products and ingredients used are not tested on animal (live or dead) or animal tissues. Toxicological assessments are carried out by a registered toxicologist (paper work review & literature research only).
Are your products suitable for Vegans & Vegetarians?
Yes, absolutely. All our products are suitable for vegetarians and vegans – with one exception! Our gorgeous Spring Clean Deep Cleansing Mask does contain beeswax, so is not suitable for vegans but it is the only one that does.
Who is Amie suitable for?
Amie is suitable for women of all ages, although because it is aimed at sensitive skin, it is particularly good for young women and teens whose young skin does not reach its adult thickness until around the age of 25 and so can still be easily irritated.
We have many ladies in their 20’s, 30’s and 40’s using and loving Amie!
My skin is sensitive, can I use Amie?
All Amie products have been developed to be gentle, non-irritating and kind to skin, so can be used by anyone with sensitive skin.
Can boys/men use Amie?
Yes of course! We appreciate that our packaging does look rather feminine but Amie is absolutely suitable for boys/men to use. My own son, who is now 18 and has enjoyed blemish-free skin throughout his teenage years has always used these products (and they are all in green packaging, so not too girly!)
Radiant Dawn Exfoliating Daily Wash – green apple gel with gentle exfoliating beads – excellent for removing oil and blackheads.
Spring Clean Deep Cleansing Mask – once or twice a week, use this on oily or problem areas for excellent results. It contains 5% zinc oxide which is excellent for clearing spots and blemishes.
Is Amie OK to use in pregnancy?
There should not be any problem using the Amie range whilst pregnant but if you have concerns it would be advisable to discuss this matter further with your GP/Obstetrician/Midwife.
Do you use plastic micro-beads?
No, absolutely not! None of our products contains plastic beads. We actually use only 100% natural exfoliating beads of rice bran and blueberry seeds.
Do you use Palm Oil in your products?
Amie recognises that palm oil harvested from a non-sustainable or illegal source such as from rain forest deforestation areas is unacceptable, and we are working with all our raw material suppliers with the target of having all raw materials sourced from an RSPO (Roundtable on Sustainable Palm Oil) approved sustainable palm oil or palm kernel oil by December 2017.
Do your products contain nuts?
A few of our products contain almond oil or coconut oil derivatives. Whilst it is extremely unlikely that this will cause a reaction in persons with nut allergies, if this is cause for concern then these products should perhaps be avoided. Products affected include:
- Morning Clear Purifying Facial Wash – Coconut and Almond Oil
- New Leaf Deep Pore Exfoliating Polish – Coconut and Almond Oil
- Morning Light Hydrating Moisturiser – Coconut Oil
- Rose & Argan Super Radiance Serum - Argan Oil
- Rose & Argan Super-Renewing Moisture Mask - Argan Oil
- Rose & Argan Beautifully Firming Night Cream - Argan and Coconut Oil
- Rose & Argan Beautifully Radiant Facial Oil - Argan and Coconut Oil
- Rose & Argan Daily Radiance Moisturiser - Almond, Argan and Coconut Oil
In case of potential allergies, we always recommend that you carry out a patch test on your arm before full use to make sure you do not have a reaction. If you have any serious concerns , you should speak to your Doctor/Dietician.
Are your products gluten-free?
All of the Amie products we supply should be free of gluten and its derivatives, however we recommend customers with gluten intolerances try a patch test of the product on your arm before full use to make sure you don’t have a reaction. If you have any serious concerns, you should speak to your GP/Dietician.
What does 'non-comedogenic' mean?
Each of the products within the Amie Naturally range have been independently assessed by a qualified toxicologist for their comedogenic properties. All products in the Amie range were judged to “keep pores clear” (non-comedogenic). The full statement reads:
“Keeps Pores Clear”
The above claim would indicate the formula was not Comedogenic. Comedones result from a blockage of pores by sebum and epidermal debris. The above formulation avoids the use of ingredients in amounts that are regarded as potentially comedogenic. Comedogenic ingredients are recognised in the scientific literature, and by avoiding their use at potentially comedogenic amounts the above claim may be supported.
Is your packaging recyclable?
Yes, where facilities allow.
What is your packaging made from?
The tubes are made from a food safe grade of polyethylene which conforms to all current legislation. Environmental groups across the globe recommend the use of polyethylene as a safer plastic option and our packaging suppliers are continually working with groups such as the Scientific Committee on Consumers Safety (SCCS) and the European Food Safety Authority (EFSA) to ensure that their products are to the highest standard. The tubes are also manufactured in line with the Cosmetic GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices) standard which gives strict guidelines on the production, storage and shipment of this type of packaging and the material we have selected forms a good barrier to help protect the product inside from deteriorating. All packaging used in the Amie range is free of animal-based ingredients/by-products. All the plastic packaging is produced from petrochemical (chemical products derived from petroleum) and the cartons are produced using virgin wood pulp from renewable sources and glued using PVA glue which is synthetic. All inks are either water based or UV.
